Project at Diriyah Contemporary Art Biennale 2024

Client Request

Our client entrusted us with the technical design and installation for the realization of the permanent lighting system for the spaces of the Biennale of Art at Diriyah in Riyadh. The spotlights serving the artwork lighting were not to create shadows or unwanted movements. The installation of the tracks had to be carried out by connecting them directly to the upper structure of the pavilions.

Proposed Solution

After a careful site inspection to choose the correct technical solution, we were able to provide the client with a proposal in line with their request. We designed a system for hanging the light bars directly onto the support beams of the pavilion roofs. The junction boxes for the additional AVL and power connections were also secured to the primary roof beams.

Implementation

Armonica designed and built the AVL and power signal system for the connections of the newly supplied light tracks. The light tracks were installed using the original mounting provisions directly on the secondary roof beams of each pavilion. This ensured that the orientation and attachment of the lighting fixtures were stable and secure. The provisions for the AVL and power junction boxes at the ceiling were fixed directly onto the main beams. We also created the entire new distribution on metal cable trays and installed new electrical panels for the lights and additional power provisions. Separate racks were created for each pavilion with dedicated network connections and patch panels. The entire network system was tested and certified.
